Greener toothbrushing

Okay, if you've ever used organic toothpaste, the you know that it is disgusting. Maybe we have just become desensitized to the chemical taste of REAL toothpaste but, ecch! So when I saw this toothbrush I automatically shuddered at the very thought but am trying to be open-minded to anything that might make our little world a little greener.

It's the Source Toothbrush and here are the facts:

  • Replaceable head toothbrush with renewable resource handle.

  • Wood Fiber blended with PLA, a plastic derived entirely from Nebraska maize. The resulting material is 100% renewal resource.

  • Flax with post consumer polypropylene.

  • Replaceable Heads consume 1/5 the material of standard toothbrushes.

  • Replaceable heads - reduces environmental impact.

  • Radial bristling - first toothbrush in the world to have it. Makes brushing easier and more effective.

  • 3,080 Tynex® nylon bristles - available in soft or medium. Reversible for right or left hand.

Are old toothbrushes filling our landfills? Hard to imagine, but could be. This might be worth a try and it will be a definite conversation starter the next time you find yourself brushing your teeth with an audience. Try one out at radiustoothbrush.com and let me know how it works out

have you ever tried jason, all natural sea sourced toothpaste? it is so much better than conventinal toothpaste and i will never EVER go back to it. unlike the regular brands, jason is not sweet and it leaves my teeth feeling clean instead of slimy.
i know i sound like a commercial for them but i just wanted to let you know that you shouldn't give up on the hippie paste quite yet!
they carry it at both health food stores in stillwater as of last time i checked.
good job with your blog, keep it up!

Lory,

Thanks for your write up regarding our Source toothbrush it is one of our popular items because of the wood fiber/corn maize plastic handle and its replaceable heads.

I personally (and my kids) use both the Source and the Original Radius toothbrush. The handle on our Original is cellulose processed from sustainable yield forests into 100% renewable resource plastic.

Lory, if you have any feedback or are interested in receiving a sample please feel free to email me contact@radiustoothbrush.com

Regarding toothpaste I use Tom's of Maine non-flouridated and Vicco's Ayurdvedic tooth powder. Speaking of Ayurvedic you look great in the sari!
